By car

• FROM CONNECTICUT OR NORTH WESTCHESTER: Merritt Parkway or Interstate 95 South or 684 South to Cross Westchester (287 West). Take Exit 1, (Tarrytown); bear right onto Route 119 West. After the first light, turn right onto Benedict Avenue. Proceed to the second light; turn left into 400 Benedict Avenue at sign marking The Castle & Equus Restaurant (opposite entrance to Hackley School). Continue all the way up the drive to The Castle.

• FROM NYC West Side: Take West Side Highway, which becomes the Henry Hudson Parkway, which becomes the Saw Mill River Parkway. Continue North on the Saw Mill River Parkway to Exit 21W (119 West/Tarrytown). Turn Right onto Route 119. After the fifth traffic light, turn right onto Benedict Avenue. At the second light on Benedict Avenue, turn left into 400 Benedict Avenue at sign marking The Castle & Equus Restaurant (opposite entrance to Hackley School). Continue all the way up the drive to The Castle.

• FROM NYC East Side: Take the FDR drive North to the Major Deegan Expressway, which becomes the NY State Thruway (87 North). Proceed on 87 to Exit 9 (Tarrytown) (last exit before the Tappan Zee Bridge). At the exit traffic light turn left onto 119 West. At the bottom of the hill turn right onto Route 9 North. At the third traffic light turn right onto Benedict Avenue. At the fourth light (one is a blinking light) turn right into the Castle driveway. Continue all the way up the drive to The Castle.

• FROM LONG ISLAND: Take Throgs Neck Bridge or the Whitestone Bridge to the New England Thruway (95 North) or the Hutchinson Parkway North. Exit 21 onto the Cross-Westchester Expressway (287 West). Take Exit 1; bear right onto Route 119 West. After the first light, turn right onto Benedict Avenue. Proceed to the second light; turn left into 400 Benedict Avenue at sign marking The Castle & Equus Restaurant (opposite entrance to Hackley School). Continue all the way up the drive to the Castle.

• FROM NEW JERSEY: Take the Garden State Parkway or Palisades Parkway North to Interstate 87/287 East to the Tappan Zee Bridge. After the bridge tolls take the first exit, Route 9/Tarrytown. At the exit traffic light make a right onto Route 9 North to fourth Traffic light. Turn right onto Benedict Avenue. At the fourth light (one is a blinking light) turn right into the Castle Driveway. Continue all the way up the drive to the Castle.

• FROM THE TACONIC STATE PARKWAY: Take the Taconic State Parkway south to the Saw Mill River Parkway. Follow the directions below from the Saw Mill River Parkway to the Castle.

• FROM THE SAW MILL RIVER PARKWAY: Take the Saw Mill River Parkway south to Exit 22 for Tarrytown. At that exit turn right onto Route 119 West. After the first traffic light turn right onto Benedict Avenue. At the second traffic light turn left into The Castle property. Come to the top of the drive.

• FROM ROUTE 684: Take Route 684 south to the Route 287/Cross Westchester Expressway. Take Route 287 West to Exit 1. At that exit turn right onto Route 119 West. After the first traffic light turn right onto Benedict Avenue. At the second traffic light turn left into The Castle property and come to the top of the drive.

• FROM PEEKSKILL & NORTHERN HUDSON RIVER VILLAGES: Take Route 9 south through the villages of Ossining, Briarcliff, Sleepy Hollow and Tarrytown. There is a full traffic light in Tarrytown at the intersection of Main Street and Broadway (with a 7-11 store on the opposite right-hand corner). At the next traffic light turn left onto Benedict Avenue. At the fourth light on Benedict (the first is a blinking light, next three are full traffic lights), turn right into the Castle property and proceed to the top of the drive.


By train
From Grand Central Station, NY. Take the Hudson Line, stop at the Tarrytown Train Station (2 or 3 trains per hour). Taxi services available at any time at the station. The Castle is located 5 minutes drive.

By airplane
Westchester Airport - 20 minutes drive
